John M. Broder and Robin Toner (sounds like a musical duo) penned a piece for the NY Times' "Political Memo" with the headline: "Campaign May Leave Blot on Clinton Legacy".
Ummm ... "blot" might be the perfect word to use when discussing the Clinton Legacy. But hasn't Hillary suffered enough humiliation?
Posted by Dr. Zaius at June 8, 2008 05:41 PMGood catch, Dr Zaius. Interesting article as well. Blame it all on the Clinton's playing the race card, when that card has been the one played almost exclusively by the Obama camp throughout the primaries. But there is no mention of those facts whatsoever (of course not). If not for Sean Hannity, then FoxNews, I wonder if America would know anything yet of Obama's racist and anti-American background. The Clinton's never really brought these things up, probably for fear of being branded as running a dirty racist campaign. Much of the stuff was fairly common knowledge by people in the know. Yes, smear Bill for his S Carolina comment as attribute 90+% black vote for Obama to Bill, and toodeloo to his legacy as America's first black president. It is too disingenuous for words.
Posted by: john b at June 8, 2008 09:57 PMBy the way, I am hoping that you and/or Joel will put together one of your fine blogs (and distribute it) relative to Sam Nunn and his NAU / NWO connections ... Carter ... Obama(NAFTA lies) etc ... maybe base it around :

Posted by: john b at June 9, 2008 08:59 AMAh, yes, the North American Union. But do Sam Nunn or any of these codgers really matter anymore? Look at that WND story. It's a year old. Where is the _political_ momentum for a North American Union? Yes, there is plenty of academic and inside-the-Beltway affection for the idea. But there is no widespread political support for it.
As for Nunn and Obama, Zaius and I were talking about this on Saturday. Every election year, Nunn's name comes up as a possible VP or a high cabinet official in the next Democratic administration. But then the Democrat loses or, in the case of Bill Clinton, decides to appoint a liberal Republican to defense secretary instead. The guy hasn't been a senator for, what? Fifteen years? Nobody knows who the hell he is anymore. Besides, would Obama, Bringer of Hope and Change, really pick an old-guard Democrat who hasn't been on the public stage since the 1990s? Doubtful.
