Infinite MonkeysI have some time on my hands, so I'm headed off to the multiplex this afternoon. Although I've seen Iron Man twice already, I agree with Dirty Harry at Libertas that it's worth seeing again, for all the right reasons. And I will. Just not today.
Instead, I'll see The Forbidden Kingdom, the Jackie Chan/Jet Li kung-fu epic. Nothing like a few spinning roundhouse kicks and magical bo-staff hijinks to cure the post-employment blues.
Alas, I'll probably get roped into seeing Speed Racer tomorrow. I share Joel's indifference to the flick. I wasn't into the cartoon, either. But Joel should consider himself lucky that he doesn't have a 5-year-old boy who can't get enough of those seizure-inducing trailers.
Light a candle for me, won't you?

If Benjamin is to shuffle around like an extra in an "Oliver!" production, it should not be for a movie National Review Online's Peter Suderman calls "jarring, and unpleasantly so" and warns that "most who attend this film are likely to come out poorer for the experience."
It might be more entertaining to make a paper airplane out of that $10 and fly it out the window.
