Gore Pushback

Finally, FINALLY, someone in power is pushing back at Al Gore and his global catastrophe theory.

A judge on Wednesday ruled that Al Gore's award winning climate change documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" should only be shown in schools with guidance notes to prevent political indoctrination.

High Court judge Michael Burton's decision follows legal action brought by a father of two last month claiming the former US vice-president's film contained "serious scientific inaccuracies, political propaganda and sentimental mush".

I'm no fan of courts telling schools what to do, but this is in Britain, so I'm bothered a bit less.

"If it was not for the case brought by myself, our young people would still be being indoctrinated with this political spin," [the litigant] told reporters.

If only more American school boards, where such judgments should be made, thought the same. Unfortunately, schools across the country will probably call assemblies for screenings after Gore wins the Nobel Prize on Friday.

First an Academy Award, then the Nobel Peace Prize...

Can the Broadway version of "An Inconvenient Truth" be far behind? After all, Algore needs a Tony to complete the trifecta.

Al Gore.... just another prime example of a politician taking a little bit of fact and blowing it entirely out of proportion

Well, he needs a Grammy, so we'll have to get the movie's narration copied onto a CD and released on iTunes. Then, of course, we'll need to press the sound into a gold record. No, I mean a literal gold record. Then copies will be loaded onto a Moon mission, in order that Gore can claim the Google Lunar X PRIZE.

One gold record will be enshrined on a the Moon, while the other gold engravings of Gore's genius will be mounted on commemorative deep space probes and launched into the inner and outer reaches of the galaxy, just in case there are aliens capable of recognizing Gore's saving of this third planet from that star over there, and awarding him some prize. Expect to see such an award presented by a realignment of the stars in a particular constellation, or perhaps a beamed interruption of the video feed of Live Earth 2: Environmental Boogaloo.

I'm suddenly reminded of the Little Green Men from Toy Story.

Alien #1: A stranger.
Ailen #2: From the outside.
Aliens: Oooooooooooooooh.

Alien #1: The Gore is our master.
Ailen #2: It decides who will go and who will stay.

Alien: Nirvana is coming, the mystic portal awaits.

Alien: I have been chosen. Farewell, my friends. I go to a better place.

Funny, funny stuff, Brad.

Of course, that golden probe into space can also turn out poorly. Xenu might intercept the missive, know that our planet is vulnerable — since it is led by idiots — and move up his plans for ruling Earth.

Take a look at your (potential) new master ... and tremble:

Oh. And the smart-ass who blasphemed Xenu? He'll be the first one killed.

Al Gore and "golden probe" just seem to go together, don't they?
