Anybody out there know of an actual GOOD sushi bar in the East part of Metropolitan Phoenix? The kind of place where they sneer at you (in the tremendously polite way that only Japanese people can) if you ask them to make you a roll. The kind of place where you write "$50" on a piece of paper and let the chef serve you whatever he likes.
Places NOT to bring up:
1. Ra
2. Sushi on Shea
3. Kona Grill
4. Shogun
There are no good sushi bars anywhere. You see, unbeknownst to most people, Sushi sucks. Really, it does. Trust me.
Get a Hardee's Thickburger instead.

We don't have Hardee's in AZ, we have Carl's Jr. And I have had many many many of their burgers. I have Hardee's when I travel to Florida.
Carl's used to have yummy krinkle fries, back in the day. Like Del Taco does now. Mmmmm. Krinkle fries.

Gotta love Del Taco's Krinkle Fries.
Posted by: JamesPh. at February 19, 2005 07:26 AMSure they do - they just call it the "Six Dollar Burger", but it's the same piece of meat. And you can get a double if you like. Carl's switched all of their meat to 100% Angus in the last year, just like Hardee's. AND they'll do the Six Dollar "Western Bacon" style with the BBQ sauce and the onion rings.
In Blythe, there's a Carl's and a Del Taco right next to each other. When Monkey Brad and I were driving back from the Monkey Summit last year, we went through both drive thru windows in order to get both delicious burgers AND krinkle fries.
Posted by: RobbL Monkey at February 19, 2005 09:26 AMI guess I am thinking of the Hardee's Monster Thickburger, two-thirds of a pound of artery slamming goodness.
Posted by: JamesPh. at February 19, 2005 03:38 PMThe best place for Sushi in Phoenix is Ayako at the Biltmore Shopping Center at 24th St. and Camelback.Yum!
Posted by: DD at February 19, 2005 05:44 PMGood sushi is rare indeed in Phoenix!!! So to that extent do what we did. Take Pacific Rim culinary classes at Phoenix College and learn to make it yourself. You can find all the "fixin's" at your local AJ's
PS pay attention to the Dim Sum class
