Today's Stupid Campaign Quote (elliptical)

Dan Rather delivers what is at worst an outright lie and at best the greatest understatement of the season: "We have been misled."

Sorry, Dan. That's not going to save either campaign: It won't save CBS's or your credibility, and it won't get Kerry's savagely derailed campaign back onto the tracks.

I think this one is better: "It was an error that was made, however, in good faith and in the spirit of trying to carry on a CBS News tradition of investigative reporting without fear or favoritism."
