Joel's chiliad

Hard to believe, but our Monkey Comrade and my friend and collaborator Joel Mathis has been plugging away at the Philadelphia Weekly version of his blog, Cup o' Joel, for about a year now. He reached a milestone today with his 1000th post, which deals with Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab's failed Christmas Day crotch bombing.

Hmmmm... I believe there may be a column in there somewhere...

Congratulations, Joel, and keep 'em coming.

Thanks, Ben

It has been fun and increasingly rewarding.

AND: It's a good thing I had that outlet. Otherwise, I would've been tempted to post here another, oh, 950 times or so during the last year. It's probably best for my relationship with all the Monkeys that I didn't do that.

On the other hand, I am grateful for InfMonks as part of my blogging routine. Stuff that gets said here often ends up as the genesis of a post over there. Or, sometimes, the entire post. Truly: I couldn't have been nearly as productive a blogger if I didn't have Jim Lakely around.

I wonder how he'll feel about that.

Having me around ...

I'm thinking, I'm thinking ... ;-)

Actually, I'm honored you'd say that, Joel. The feeling is mutual. We've had quite a few clashes, but it's made us (or at least me) a better blogger and thinker. And this process has fostered a friendship that I'm very grateful for.

Congrats on your first anniversary at Cup o' Joel and your 1,000th post!

Whoa...

1,000 posts? Well done, sir. Here's to a happy, productive, and meaningful 2010.

Re: Whoa

Thanks, Rick. And I should add that your challenges have also been fruitful to me. We won't always -- or even often -- agree, but you've prodded me toward greater rigor and research in my opining.

All of you -- Robb, Brad, Wry, Khabalox -- make me work harder. And of course, there's my weekly sparring with Ben. And I'm grateful for it. Thanks guys.

Joel, Joel, A thousand Times Joel

you'll find my presents wrapped up in the "comments" section of your blog. Enjoy! and Thanks for putting the time in.

Congrats!

Well done Joel, congratulations!
